Ardeadactylus comes from Ardea, meaning "heron" (also the name of a genus of herons), and dactylus, meaning "finger". It is an extinct genus of ctenochasmatoid pterosaur known from the Upper Jurassic Solnhofen limestone of Bavaria, southern Germany.
